Therapy & Counseling Portland Oregon

What we do

At Portland Psychotherapy, we are committed to helping our clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and other life problems so that they can live fuller and more meaningful lives. Our commitment is not just to help our clients feel better, we help them to live better. Every Portland counselor and therapist at our clinic provides compassionate, effective counseling and psychotherapy. We also provide group counseling, classes, and seminars. We are dedicated to treating psychological problems with methods based on the best science available. We strive to adapt our approaches to take into account the unique preferences, values, and life circumstances of our clients. Supporting diversity and inclusivity is a core value at Portland Psychotherapy.

Who we are

The mission of our Portland counselors and therapists is to use science to develop and guide compassionate, effective treatment and contribute to the wider community through research and training. We strive to make quality, evidence-based mental health services available to all members of our community. Research drives everything that we do. Our providers are also active clinical researchers, which keeps them knowledgeable about the most current events in evidence-based practice.

Classes and Groups

There are a lot of counselors out there, but very few know the latest research about what works.

Because we are involved in scientific research on a daily basis, we are able to integrate the science of therapy with the art of therapy.

Mostly we use cognitive-behavioral therapy methods (in particular Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), methods that have the strongest evidence for being helpful.

Most of us have had little systematic training on how to handle the stresses and difficulties of life.

Our classes provide practical guidance on how to respond more flexibly to the inevitable stress and pain that is part of living.

If you think you might be interested in our classes or groups, drop us a line and we'll let you know about future openings.
